Eddie and Bennett had the pleasure of sitting down with Podcasting’s own Cliff Ravenscraft! This was an incredible interview and one we are sure you will absolutely enjoy! You will see, Cliff struggled with his weight like many of us do and as his success in podcasting grew, his felt he was not setting a good example.
Now, Cliff Ravenscraft Setting An Example Through Health and Fitness Learn How He Did It!
Cliff is first, and foremost, a podcast producer who has produced more than 30 of his own podcast shows with over 3,600 of his very own podcast episodes devoted to Business, Technology, Entertainment, Family, and Faith.
In December 2006, Cliff launched PodcastAnswerMan.com where he has since helped tens of thousands of individuals and organizations successfully launch a podcast through one-on-one coaching, his Podcasting A to Z online group coaching course and his digital training tutorials.
You just can’t be a Podcaster in any space without tracing in some way all the way back to Cliff!
If you were to look at the top 100 podcasts in the business category of iTunes, more than 50 of these shows were created by clients who worked with Cliff.. AMAZING!!
IN THIS PARTICULAR EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN:
Cliff is extremely open about his lifelong struggle with his weight. Sitting behind a desk and podcasting encouraged a life of inactivity, and he suffered for it!
Along with not eating healthy, the result was a body that was not only not healthy but very near death as Cliff describes. Something needed to change but he needed the proper motivation to make the necessary changes in his life.
Something needed to change but he needed the proper motivation to make the necessary changes in his life.
We all have our Limiting Beliefs, and Cliff definitely had his that’s for sure! The trick is finding the “Why I Can” vs. the “Why I Can’t”.
Cliff’s successful podcasting career led to other opportunities like public speaking. This, however, got Cliff out from behind the microphone and into the public’s eye.
When asked how his weight made him feel while speaking Cliff said, “I got on stage in front of hundreds of people and felt like a complete fraud”
People came to hear Cliff speak and learn from him first hand what it took to be successful, and learn how he does what he does.
Tune into this episode to hear the rest of the story. This is such an incredible and inspiring story. We were extremely honored to have Cliff on the show to share his story!
This is a great video about Cliff and his wife Stephanie’s journey.

Cliff also mentioned the Live Fit Podcast. This was one of the few Podcasts he found extremely valuable during his quest to a better, healthier life!
This was a new show that we did not hear about. Thank you, Cliff, for this recommendation! Since our interview, we have had the chance to listen to several episodes of the Live Fit Podcast and we can honestly say that Glenn Johnson brings some very intriguing and helpful content to the area of health and fitness!
Cliff also mentions some incredible books that he found instrumental in how he viewed health and fitness. If you have not read these books yet, they are highly recommended!!
The first is Fully Alive by Ken Davis
This book is a treasure map that leads from monotony to adventure. From boring mediocrity to thrilling risk. Here are detailed directions to take hold of the power to live the kind of life you were created for and your soul longs for.
Fully Alive uncovers signs of life that lead to physical, mental, social and spiritual empowerment.
- Discover the adventure hiding in the middle of the mundane.
- Exchange the pain of unmet expectations for the joy of living with expectancy.
- Get unstuck and take the first step that will lead to a new body, mind, and spirit.
- Kick guilt to the curb and experience real freedom.
- Drive a stake into the heart of your everyday fears and live again.
- Tap into a power that will protect you whether you’re crawling through the valley or standing on the mountain top
Ken is a Christian comedian so you may find this book not only informative and educational, but entertaining and hilarious as well.
After all, who doesn’t need a little laughter in their life?
The second book Cliff highly recommended was Younger Next Year by Chris Crowley.
Younger Next Year, the New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Publishers Weekly bestseller, co-written by one of the country’s most prominent internists, Dr. Henry “Harry” Lodge, and his star patient, the 73-year-old Chris Crowley.
These are the books that show us how to turn back our biological clocks—how to put off 70% of the normal problems of aging (weakness, sore joints, bad balance) and eliminate 50% of serious illness and injury.
The key to the program is found in Harry’s Rules: Exercise six days a week. Don’t eat crap. Connect and commit to others. There are seven rules altogether, based on the latest findings in cell physiology, evolutionary biology, anthropology, and experimental psychology. Dr. Lodge explains how and why they work—and Chris Crowley, who is living proof of their effectiveness (skiing better today, for example, than he did twenty years ago), gives the just-as-essential motivation.
Both men and women can become functionally younger every year for the next five to ten years, then continue to live with newfound vitality and pleasure deep into our 80s and beyond.
