CYPOV Podcast is dedicated to helping Veterans become just as successful out of uniform as they were when they were in. In order to become successful, you will need help. For some, it is a lot of help, for others just a little, but one thing remains constant, WE ALL NEED HELP!
This week I sit down with Travis Long a Mentee of Veterati and his 3-Wise Men, Veterati Mentors Chris McGraw, Shawn Hoadley, and Tim Denman. In this first of its kind interview, you will hear first-hand the impact These mentors and this incredible platform had on one if its mentees.

We all hope you enjoy this show and more than anything hope you will give Veterati a shot either as a mentee or a mentor, or like me, you will decide to become both!

I have enjoyed helping people my entire life. I have especially enjoyed helping clients and customers. By teaching, encouraging, and empowering others I have created special relationships that have lent themselves to success for all involved. I’m proud to have helped several connections advance their careers by introducing them to the right people in my personal or extended network. I’ve been a LinkedIn user since 2004.
I am an enthusiastic professional with a unique combination of technical expertise, management experience, business leadership, and design and production experience ready to lead the implementation of mission-critical projects. I have spent the majority of my professional career on project controls teams and have worked on projects ranging from cruise ships to condominiums and from wastewater treatment plants to nuclear power stations.
In the past five years I have been pursuing a new path in search of professional fulfillment. I started by fundraising and teaching guitar to veterans at Hines V.A. Hospital in Chicago with Guitars for Vets (501c3). Shortly after that, I founded Socialhood.com with a friend of mine to exercise my entrepreneurial muscles and ultimately took a role in talent acquisition.
My rich work history provides a platform from which I am able to communicate successfully with business leaders in any industry at every level. My skills, passion and not-to-be-outdone efforts provide a foundation for me to have an immediate impact on your business.
I help companies craft solutions to complex business problems, typically through the use of data analytics and technology. I firmly believe that organizations succeed when they foster a culture of authenticity and transparency.
Here’s a bit more about me:
– 15+ years in sales/business development, project management, and leadership experience.
– MBA, West Point instructor, former military officer (Air Force), engineer, public speaker.
– Strategic thinker, intellectually curious with first-rate analytical and conceptual skills.
– B2B consultative enterprise sales leader & trusted advisor to Fortune 1000 C-level executives across multiple industry verticals including technology, media, building materials, higher education.
